It’s never too late to live a life that makes you proud. We get one shot at this. There’s no age limit on changing your course, and to settle in and be stuck in a life that isn’t authentic is a tragic waste. Honestly, it’s never too late or too early to be who you are capable of being. There’s no time limit – you can simply start and stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. You can make the best or the worst of it. It’s up to you, so make the best of it. Do things that startle you. Feel things you’ve never felt before. Spend time with people who help you grow. Live a life you’re proud of. And if you find that you’re not, have the courage to make a change.

- One way to deal with stress and loss is to immerse yourself in doing good for others. Volunteer. Get involved in life. It doesn’t even have to be a big, structured event. Say a kind word. Encourage someone nearby. Pay a visit to someone who is alone. Get away from your self-preoccupation for a while. When it comes down to it, there are two types of people in this world. There are givers and there are takers. Givers are happy. Takers are still unhappily wondering what’s in it for them.

- We all want to achieve success, but we need to remember that success in not a specific achievement. Success is not crossing over some arbitrary finishing line. It’s the ability to fight the good fight day in and day out. Success is strength – the strength to keep pushing and to keep living your life on your own terms. Success isn’t an end result. It’s a state of being. You don’t win success. You are a success every day.

- It may give you little comfort to think about how you’re still waist deep in the struggle, but the truth is you are one of the strong people with the guts to keep at it. Many people give up before they even begin, but not you. No, you wake up every day and get things done. You crawl inch by inch against the current because you refuse to give up. You refuse to accept mediocrity. You refuse to listen to others when they tell you that you’re not good enough. You’re still in it, fighting the good fight.

- It’s important that we forgive ourselves for making mistakes. We need to learn from our errors and move forward. Make a pact with yourself today to not be defined by your past. Sometimes the greatest thing to come out of all your hard work isn’t what you get for it, but what you learn from it. A happy, successful life, after all, is not a life absent of problems, but one that’s been able to rise above them.

- Today can be great, but only if you make it so. – Why do we often feel so powerless? Because we convince ourselves that we are. We wait for things to be given to us – entitlements. But in life, there are no true entitlements, and the truth is that if you want something then you need to make it happen for yourself. You need to work for it. Whether or not today is a great day doesn’t depend on the weather. It doesn’t depend on your “mood” (that’s also within your control). It doesn’t depend on anyone else. If you want to have a pleasant and productive day then choose to have one. It’s all about your perception and what you choose to believe and do.
Sometimes the best ideas are the simple ones.
Case in point, about a year ago I ran across a young man on the river walk in
San Antonio. He was at a little stand selling what he called “POSITIVE PINS.”
This of course caught my attention right away so I stopped. His name was
Jonathan Garza and what a fine young man he was/ is. His positive pins
are magnetic pins that go on your lapel. The pin is a small thought cloud
with a plus sign in the center. The theme of the pin as described on its
package is:
“the Symbol says it all! Clip this
magnetic Positive Pin to your clothing and let it serve as a reminder to you
and the world that you choose to think positive thoughts more often. It’s
proven that we become what we think about and if you look on the positive side
of life more often your life becomes more enjoyable and successful. Wear
it, share it.”
So true! So how is this a new patient
project? Well it’s not in the same vein as a screening, or a patient
appreciation week etc. However what it is, is a small something, a gift
you can give friends, patients, potential patients, and I can assure you, they
will remember you. If these remember you, they come see you. It’s all
about present time consciousness. Keeping you in the front of others
minds. I have ordered and handed out hundreds of these with tremendous
effect. Check out the below links, order some. Use my name when you
contact Jonathan. He will take care of you. And did I mention these wear
cheap? $5.00.
